Well, 2017 is about to enter it’s final month and it’s been a pretty weird and wonderful year to say the least. My gaming group is growing once again, slowly but surely and also I’ve expanded my wings into the VTT (Virtual Table Top) gaming world. It’s like table top role playing but it’s online with others at a virtual table.
I’ve ran a few games at Roll20 now and I enjoy it for what it offers. A chance to game with other players and have fun doing so. I’ve set up a few games on it and one of them is The Sky Goes Clank. It’s a campaign I had written up a long time ago the Gamma World RPG. TSGC continues to amaze me since the players are pretty awesome and no matter what I throw at them they bounce back like indestructible weebles. I’m having a good time with the online game and I do hope my players enjoy it as much as I do.
I’ve been reading Lee Child novels again. I read a couple of Jack Reacher novels over the years but now I’ve dove headfirst into the series and started at the very beginning tale of Reacher in The Killing Floor. Where Reacher is sitting on a bus and he decides to get off at a crossroads to visit a small town because his brother talked about an old blues legend that was in that area long ago. No sooner has he done that he is accused of murder and thrown in state county jail in which he is marked for death.
Reacher is an easy read and the formula is similar brand of action and thriller to be the comfort read that I dig. I like series like Heathlands, Mack Bolan, and the S.O.B’s but those novels are passed. I don’t if I can run a campaign based on the Jack Reacher stories but it would make excellent adventures for a small group of players getting caught in the wrong moment at the wrong time kind of element would you think?
Maybe a Top Secret RPG would fit the bill for a Jack Reacher style agent.
Oh well, I’ll think about it for a little while. I’ll but the idea on the back burner and let it simmer for a bit.
