Last night was suppose to be a regular scheduled game night, but due to the Christmas season and the weather being particularly nasty also put the kibosh on the evening. Though, I had one player willing to make the trip to my place (though he just lives down the street), he was suppose to be elsewhere that evening due to a prior comittment but the snow made him alter those plans.
Other players have other gatherings to tend to as well, so it was an evening of watching classic christmas movies and sipping coffee, and also working on some Shadowrun as well since my interest have been sparked once again.
I don’t know if I can run a huge epic style campaign in Shadowrun but I’m willing to give it the college try.
And on another note.
It’s definitely a white Christmas this season. There’s a ton of snow on the ground and has put a few people into the Christmas spirit, and the seasonal music also helps with bringing in the cheer. But, there’s only so much of that music I can take before I have to switch over to some Motown classics to drive me sane once again.
Christmas is upon us now, one of my kids will be home this evening but first she has to work the day and it’s a good thing she’s only an hour away instead of four or ten hours since she has to work on Boxing Day as well. It made me realize how lucky I am to have all my girls under the same roof, if only just for one night, there will come a day when that will not be possible. As they grow, fly the nest, get there education, work and eventually a family of their own.
I am thankful for this year and I consider that a blessing.
